Welcome to my very first blog!! I am so excited to take y’all along this journey with me 🙂

For this blog, I wanted to cover who I am, my heart for missions, why Asia, and my gratitude for the Lord’s provisions.

From a young age, I’ve always felt an unwavering pull toward the world of medicine, a calling that feels as though it has always been part of me. Growing up, I didn’t just dream of becoming a doctor; I envisioned myself as someone who could make a tangible difference, offering a hand to those in need, providing solace to those in pain, and being a source of hope where it was most needed. But it’s not just the science of medicine that inspires me. It’s the deeply human side of it, the chance to reach beyond the physical body and touch the soul.

My heart has always been drawn to helping others, whether through volunteering, lending a listening ear, or simply offering a comforting presence in difficult moments. I believe that medicine is not only about treating illnesses but about fostering compassion, and that’s the essence of what I long to do. I want to be the kind of doctor who doesn’t just heal with my hands, but with my heart, a doctor who sees the person behind the patient, and who understands the struggles they face both physically and emotionally.

Alongside this passion for medicine lies my deep love for animals and my insatiable curiosity about other cultures. Traveling has always been a way for me to connect with the world, to learn from the rich tapestry of human experience that exists across borders. Each new place I’ve visited has expanded my worldview, challenged my perceptions, and filled me with awe at the beauty and diversity of life. Travel has been my lens for understanding the world in ways that no textbook ever could.

But it wasn’t until I went on a mission trip to Africa that my perspective on life truly shifted. I had always read about the challenges facing underserved populations, but experiencing them firsthand was a revelation. I was confronted by the harsh realities of life for many people, but also inspired by their incredible strength and the power of community. It was here, among the people I was serving, that I realized the profound connection between healthcare, social justice, and the human spirit.

Since that trip, my thirst for missions has only grown. The people I met, their stories, their struggles, and their resilience continue to inspire me to seek out ways to make a lasting impact in the world.

Truthfully, Asia was never a place I had specifically dreamed of going. When I first began looking at mission trips, I wasn’t searching for a particular country or region,I was simply searching for where I was meant to be. But as I scrolled through opportunities, something about Thailand and Indonesia stirred something deep within me. It wasn’t a logical decision or a long-held dream; it was a pull I couldn’t ignore.

I don’t fully know why God has led me to Asia, but I do know that He has something big planned. Just like my first mission trip changed my perspective on life, I believe this journey will shape me in ways I can’t yet imagine. I’m stepping into the unknown with an open heart, ready to serve, to learn, and to be exactly where God wants me to be.

I have been overwhelmed with the support I have received thus far, both financial and spiritual. Going into this, I was wary of whether or not I would be able to fundraise to go; $5500 was a really daunting number for me. I found myself doubting God and His provisions. I took that doubt and sat with the Lord for a bit and chose to relinquish that fear and anxiety to the Lord and the next day He blessed me immensely. I am so utterly grateful for a loving Father who continually provides and for an amazing support system pushing me to persevere.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and thank you for reading! Check back in with you after training camp 🙂
